I no longer have any of the older pic from my craft room but …. trust me when I say it’s come a long way in the past year. Little by little I’ve managed to organize and find storage solutions that work for me. Maybe this little look will give you a few ideas.
The old room was a goldish orange sort of color (yup yuck!). I love the new lighter taupe walls, light wood floor and white trim. Even with the dark blinds and floor rug, the room is so much brighter than before. Other than the desks and mint tools cart, all other storage items were purchased at Amazon.
In the image below, notice the desk with the cutting mat on it. The table top had about had it. Numerouse scratches and ink stains. I’ve added a light contact paper to the top which not only made it look nicer, but it’s slick surface makes it a breeze to clean up ink and glue spills!
One of my favorite things in the room is the huge rug I put down to help protect the light colored floor. The texture is perfect for chairs with rollers on them and it’s held up very well.
Tall bookshelves from Amazon with adjustable shelves made great storage for bins, boxes and more. The cube organizer shelves I picked up at Big Lots for $25 ea. Fabric bins in boxes of 6 count are great for storage of larger items or things that you need easy access to.
While those two sides of the room are pretty much finished, this side still needs some work. Since we have three empty bedrooms now, we plan to make hubs his only little computer room where I can also sit and read while he’s on the computer in the evenings. Once that happens, this side will be converted to the cutting machine or miniature making area.
That’s it for now but I’ll try and update this post should I come across some other storage ideas or as I make changes to the room.
Here’s a look at the final update to my craft room, at least for now (smile).
Till next time …..
