featuring our February Quilt Block SVG
I love it when you purchase a product that offers more than one way to use it. That’s the case with many of our products and this bonus tutorial is just one example.
Let’s begin by taking a few moments to watch this little video on making a few changes to the original SVG file to create a cute Valentine Candy Box
As I was constructing the box I discovered a slight change was needed to the connector pieces. Please see the image below for reference. One connector needs to be turned upside down and the hole needs to be on the other end!
Here is a guide to show you all of the parts for the Valentine Candy Box.
Now let’s get started ….
Laying your two heart chipboard pieces, facing the same direction, apply an inside cover to one and score tape to the other as seen below. If you like, use some distress ink on the edges of all pieces before you begin. If you don’t have score tape you can use glue to apply the heart quilt pieces.
Now turn the hearts over and repeat the process on opposite sides. Next you can begin to add the heart quilt pieces. Add the border first then work on the inside.
Fold the tabs on the two connectors toward the backside. On the connector with the tab and hole at top end, clip the tab off. Connect the two connectors with the remaining tab with the holes at opposite ends.
Glue the connectors, one tab at a time, to the inside of one heart base.
Repeat on the opposite side.
Now add a length of ribbon for a handle, stuff some goodies in tissue and place inside the box. Isn’t that cute!
Enjoy and Happy Valentines Day!!!
