Day 3
I’ts suggested, for several reasons, that you build these houses floor by floor, finishing one before starting the other. I can see the reasoning behind this for flooring, wallpaper and lighting but not sure about the furnishings? I guess if you are doing a lot of tiny things in the rooms, it might be harder to get them in there once all the floors are connected but I’m not sure how this will affect the wiring of the house. That remains to be seen, when I get to that point. Wiring kit on the way but not here till Jan 5th!! Sigh, long time to wait lol.
For now, I’ve added some extra touches to the porches and did a final touch up of paint.
Added trim around the front door, some plants, rug, beads to porch railing and little frog on front steps. The rug was a laser cut doily I found at our local craft store and cut in half.
I found a textured woven scrapbook paper and used it plus some bakers twine, glued around the edges, to create a rug for the second porch.
I also used the same scrapbook paper to create a runner for the first floor stairs . . .
This will also make a nice carpet in a room!
Next I’ve moved on to dry fitting and painting the second floor . . .
As with the first floor, outside doors and windows are painted cream but the insides will be stained. I’m also debating on not using two of the walls at the back left side to create a large master bedroom with sitting room. I want a floor to ceiling fireplace in there so trying to decide where to add it.

Hey Joey, Thanks soooo much for such sweet comments! I’m honored to be on your wish list and happy that I inspire you. I’ve had so much fun making the North Pole Village series and have learned so much from working on this dollhouse that I just might make the next NPV house mid-year LOL. I’m planning on Mrs. Clause Sweet Shoppe and possibly the Elf Lodge. So keep watch on the blog!
Have a great day dear.
