Welcome back! This is really more of an update as I’ve moved some of the furniture to the Little Anne Cottage and changed a few things up here and there. I did finish a couple of projects and I believe the Kitchen is now finished! Hope you enjoy the update . . .
The ceiling is printed paper made to look like an old tin ceiling. I’ve scored all the lines between the tiles for a bit of realism. This helped to hide the light fixture wiring.
All of the wall and flooring papers were printed on my computer with the exception of the black and white checked pattern and the border at the top. The old work table was moved into my Suitcase Dollhouse so I made a new work table for here. All of the little bowels were made using a quilling method, then painted and sealed with Liquid Glass. The little rug is Bakers Twine twirled around, into an oval shape and glued to a thin piece of chipboard.
The earlier cabinet set was taken apart and only the sink section remains in this house. You can see a new cabinet on the left with more of the quilled bowls. A broom, created from a toothpick and strands of a real broom, leans against the back cabinet.
The little cake on the work table was made by making three quilled, tight flat circles, each a bit smaller than the other, then glued one on top of the other.
Now on to another room . . . . so watch for more updates!
UPDATE . . . After working on several projects I feel a little more confident to make some changes in this house. I want to make it a more elegant house inside, like an English country manor house. So from here on out, my posts will focus more on single projects or a single room with several changes. In case you have not noticed, my most recent posts are shown at the top of the category page. You can also subscribe to my newsletter to get notice of any new posts. It comes out once a week and will have pointers to the full posts.
