Sad but true . . . the build has come to an end! Yesterday I completed the outside deck for the lighthouse. I just LOVE the way it turned out and can’t wait to move it from my office to it’s resting place in our living room. Will be a fantastic night light don’t you think!
This project was so much fun that I’m actually thinking about making the half scale version lol. But will see as I’ve many other projects that I need to finish up and so many new ones planned.
Here’s a look at the finished Lighthouse . . .
and here are some close ups of the deck . . .
The deck flooring was created from medium weight chipboard that was cut, scored and painted in sections then taped and glued to gether. I decided to make it a weathered deck just like the one at the top of the Lighthouse.
Railings were made using dollhouse wood spindles, cut to fit and square basswood strips. The white sections of the railing are made with strips of chipboard painted white.
Ready-made furniture from Towne Square Miniatures, clay flowers and a pretty banner finish the decor. Perfect spot for curling up with a nice drink and good book don’t you think!
In case you are wondering . . . all of the lights are connected to a power strip that is hidden under the deck area so that I have easy access to them if needed.
I do hope that you have enjoyed following along with this build and that I inspired you to get your own Lighthouse and build it. It truly is a FUN and rewarding project!!!
